  COMMUNITY EVENTS

In 2004 the Nebraska Cardiovascular Health Program and the Nebraska State Stroke Association joined together to develop a partnership to educate the public about the warning signs of stroke."Strike Out Stroke" has been a trademark of the Nebraska State Stroke Association since 1997 and was a perfect fit for the campaign. The Strike Out Stroke campaign began educating the public in Lincoln and Omaha using baseball to promote awareness of the warning signs of stroke. Using baseball has kept the message fun and has allowed the campaign to reach many people at one time. In 2005 the Strike Out Stroke campaign began spreading to communities in Nebraska through local baseball games.
